A Westwind Studio Production. All original takes recorded by utilizing an iPod touch with Eno's "Bloom" program... recording the random and sometimes, attempted takes at creating real patterns by tapping on the screen, then uploading to Cubase and adding instruments along with snippets from the Westwind Studio archives. Takes dating back to 1985 cassette and 4-track jams... some recent live things with the Sidewalk Boys... and other live snippets from Pappa Woody and the G-Strings live in SLC and the Cheese Beads live in NYC. Mostly, a completed project for the RPM with a few things left undone due to the 3-day storm/power outage that shortened an already short month down to about 25.5 days. If not for laptop battery power and a car inverter for charging this could have remained on the shelf until 2011. My 2013 album expanded the concept of 10 connected songs, this one with a definite February focus, especially when a Nor'easter came along and dumped a couple of feet of snow on the studio. 2015 again followed the 10-song trail with Mountain Tracks. Songs about winter retreats and mountain peaks. An entirely solo effort this time around, but with the intent of hopefully adding some cello and other colors later on.
Bubbles... (aka: Brian Goetz, aka: the Chunkman) - Eno's "Bloom" - Philip Goetz on some live drums (tracks 4 and 7) - Todd Phillips on some live guitar (track 7) - Craig Woodard speaking on tracks 4 and 10 - the Sidewalk Boys on tracks 2 and 10 - Dan Sheaffer and Grant Friedrich on track 6
Songs created with Bloom, guitars, percussion and snippets from the Westwind Studio Archives.
